Weekend Getaway

Did you guys made any plans for this Easter weekend? Something adventurous or relaxing maybe? Well, if you were to ask me, I'm just planning to have a relaxing staycation. Books, coffee, candles, bubble baths, nice music those are my kind of things. I barely take the time to sit back and relax so I thought of making the most of it this long weekend.

While I'm taking the pleasure of having a proper me time, I'm pretty sure most of you are on to something. Are you guys heading to the beach or taking a flight out of country? Most of my friends are doing either but for me nothing beats a long weekend drive. If you're doing that, well I envy you because I personally enjoy going to trips with a good company of friends, amazing playlist and driveway foods. Yup, it's sinful but that's the best part right?

I'm already dreaming about my future weekend adventures and I'm thinking of grabbing a new pair of wheels. I have my eyes on FIAT and I think it's a good size to drive around with. If you have the same car in mind then I suggest you visit Holt FIAT of FT Worth TX. They have the best price for it and you  can even tweak it to whatever design or color you want with their Express Yourself Series. It's just amazing and what's not to like about that?

Favorite Designer Shoes From Harrods

Favorite Designer Shoes From Harrods

If there is one thing I love to collect, aside from nail polishes, it's shoes. From high heels to wedges to flats you name it, I just can't get enough of them. I like to have a lot of options just to make sure that my outfit looked pulled together. I tend to gravitate towards nudes and blacks but I also pop on the colour every once in a while.

I have my share of favorite brands. But when it comes to designer shoes, I go for Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen. Their iconic tributes and skull-detailed flats can take you anywhere from day to night and, it's nice to have them in your closet in case you can't decide on what to wear. They are so comfortable as well so you can wear them all day without thinking about it.

So on those days when money is more than an option, I'd like to get them at Harrods. They have a wide selection of designer shoes for you to choose from and you can always find something that fits your style. It's absolutely worth the investment and I might just get my hands on one of them soon.

Pastel Dresses For Easter

Easter Sunday Dress

If you're thinking of what to wear this Easter Sunday then you might want to consider wearing something sweet and girly. Pastels are the best colors to choose from when you're going for this look. And usually, I'd go for a dress because it's a lot easier to wear and I don't have to think about it too much. I've chosen my favorites here and these are perfect whether you're having brunch with the ladies or a nice lunch with your family.

Product I Love: Dior Amber Diamond Highlighter

If there is one beauty product that I'm currently obsessed with it's this, the Dior Amber Diamond Face Highlighter. This became such a cult favorite in the beauty community, that after trying it out myself, I knew I got to have one. It has this gorgeous shimmers that is so fine and pretty that when you wear it on your face, it looks like your skin is naturally glowing. I've tried other highlighters and just doesn't give that same effect. But with this, oh my gosh, I just can't put it into words. It's that perfect.

I Want to Travel. Can I Do It Now?

I Want to Travel. Can I Do It Now?

I figured some of you might be tired of reading about the last fashion trends so I thought I’d sneak in my random thoughts for the week.

You see, I tend to picture of how I want my life to be like. You know, like those times when you’re thoughts are running around because a) you have a lot of spare time b) you’re growing older and c) you realize you have enough money in your bank account to travel. I have a lot of those moments and mind you, there are rainbows and butterflies in it.

Much like today I see myself jet-setting. Rome, Paris, Milan – wait for me! I almost wanted to put up a poster of it on my office desk so my mind can wonder around it when my eyes get strained from reading too many emails. Don’t we all have that? But more than just jet-setting, I want to live in those cities. A bit too much right?

Then again reality hits me and I’m like ok, so I am  here sitting on my desk typing this out. Life can be cruel sometimes. Adding to that frustration, I need to renew my passport then apply for visa, which would take about 2 months to process and I'm not the most patient when it comes to that. But I don't have much of a choice do I?

So I want to ask you this. Does your thought wonder around sometimes? I want to use the word day dream but in any case, it means the same so ya! Let me know your thoughts! I want to read all about them. Leave a comment below or email me at mail@thinkrunway.com

Easy Everyday Chic Look

Easy Everyday Chic Look

An easy everyday chic look for me is something that doesn't require more than two pieces of clothing, yet at the same time still looking polished. I mean it's enough for us to be bothered by our day ahead, more so thinking about what to wear. So when you find yourself rushing for that breakfast meeting or an early Sunday brunch, I suggest you try out these looks that I've picked out here.

Forget How Much It Hurts and Try Again

Forget How Much It Hurts and Try Again

Haven't we all been there? That feeling of being so vulnerable that you can't help yourself but just burst into tears because you can longer hold your emotions. Those were the times that I've almost given up and told myself that when I encounter this again, I will set myself back and not fall into the same trap. At least that's what I thought.

Last year, I met someone. Someone who I've randomly come across with. I didn't know him then so even though he was showing interest in me, I kept pushing him away. You see I've created this barrier to protect myself because I don't want to get hurt again. But somehow no matter what I do, he is still there constantly proving himself that he was different, that I should give him a chance and that I should allow myself to be happy again.

Looking back I wondered how things will be like if I had done things otherwise. Surely I wouldn't be as happy as I am now. From then on, I realize that life will just surprise you when you least expected it. You just have to let go, forget how much it hurts and try again. Because you'll never know what you could be missing and you'll never know if that's the happiness you have so long been waiting for.

Weekend Favorites
Red Skirt / Leopard Passport Holder / Blue and Mint Nail Polish / Blue Sling Bag / Tortoiseshell Sunglass / Gold Teardrop Earrings

It's the weekend! What are you ladies up to? Mine is nothing fancy. In fact, I just plan to stay at home, relax, cook some healthy food while watching my favorite TV shows. I'm still watching Project Runway (yes since it aired 11 years ago), Rachel Zoe Project (I love her) and It's A Brad Brad World. Can you tell it's all fashion related?

So while I stay at the comforts of my home, I figured I'd share with you what I have been loving lately.  This red midi skirt totally caught my eye when I first spotted it in Asos. I think it goes perfectly well with this stripe shirt or any neutral. And just recently I've became a total convert of wearing blue nail polishes as seen on this post.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Pretty Kate Spade Pouches

Pouch

left to right: bow shoppe / willow road  / tequila is not my friend / pop / maid of honor / daycation / carlisle street / bridesmaid / checker place

Who wouldn't want these pretty Kate Spade pouches? Aside from it being a cute adornment inside your bag (not like anyone would see it but I do care that my purse or pouch, however you want to call it, is cute), it's a nice pouch to carry your cards and loose change.

Personally, I use this as my wallet. I find that it's easier to just dump everything in and it's small enough to fit any size of bags especially clutches. I think all girls should own at least one. It's a must have for Spring.

J Crew Spring 2013 Lookbook

J Crew's lookbooks never fail to give me inspiration on how to mix and match patterns and colors that would both look chic and polished. They tend to stick to the same color family when styling and pop a contrasting color here and there. But I guess when you're mixing patterns, those tips work as you can see here.

Lusting Over: Saint Laurent Ankle Cuff Pumps

Lusting Over: Saint Laurent Ankle Cuff Pumps

Saint Laurent has been coming out with more than their iconic tribute sandals. Aside from the thin strap ankle heels that I manage to get my hands on (the not so expensive one of course), these ankle cuff pumps is what I'm lusting over.

What makes this so interesting is how wide the ankle cuffs are and the number of colors and finishes it comes with. You can opt for the classic black, metalic, python skin and among others. It just edges up the classic black pumps.

Must Have Spring Dresses

Floral Dress 3

top to bottom: Alice + Olivia dress / Thakoon Addition dress / Milly dress / Marc by Marc Jacobs dress /
ISSA dress / Shoshanna dress

I'm all about bold printed floral dresses for Spring. It's one of those patterns that you can always get a way with whenever Spring hits. But what makes this so different is the bold colors used and how more compact the patterns are.My favorite is the Marc by Marc Jacobs dress. The flowy bottom makes it look fun and girly, perfect for weekend picnic or a casual Sunday brunch.

Nail Color of the Week: Essie Bikini So Teeny

For the longest time, I was afraid of wearing blues on my nails, especially lighter shades of blue. It's just a bit off for me to be wearing something other than reds and pinks. I think those colors are the most flattering for me. But when I came across this gorgeous Essie Bikini So Teeny, I knew I had to give it another try and I wasn't disappointed. Now I'm a total convert and I can't wait to share with you other blue polishes that I got.

Nicole Richie in An Edgy Black and White Combo

I'm absolutely in love with Nicole Richie's take on the classic black and white combo in the recent CR Fashion Book Party. She did it in an edgier way by combining a double zippered pocket black sleeve shirt over a feminine white drapped skirt. Her red polished nails added that much needed color. And with a sleek hair and smokey eyes, she made it look effortless and well put together.

Be Your Own Person

Be Your Own Person

When I was growing up, I've always felt that I was different among my siblings. I wasn't as tall or as thin as them and I never felt as pretty or as smart as them. I always thought they had it good and wondered why I didn't have it. But aside from what may seemed very superficial, compared to them, I'm the one who wakes up early just to watch cartoons, spend money collecting stickers, stationaries, books and magazines, went to a different university and pursued a career in a creative industry. Clearly, I was different from them.

Even until now, the differences are still very apparent and with that comes opinions from our parents on what is deemed right and wrong. Opinions on what I do, how I should spend my weekends and generally, on how I should live my life. I'm not saying that I completely ignore it. In fact, I took everything with a grain of salt knowing that they have more experiences in life to back them up. They are doing their role as a parent, wanting the best for their children, and for that I thank them.

But sometimes it can get in away, so much so that I started to question my ability because I wanted to do something that they didn't really approved of. For example, when I was in college I wanted to take up fashion design and my mom told me that I will just end up drawing all my life. So I pursued marketing instead. Another example is with this blog. I remember when I started 4 years ago, my mom asked me, are you earning money from it. The way the question was addressed is more like, you're completely wasting your time if you won't get anything out of it. But I didn't let that discourage me because that wasn't my goal in the first place. I wanted to share what I love and use it as an avenue to be creative.

If I had stopped back then, my blog wouldn't be what it is today and I wouldn't have all the opportunities I'm getting now. It's with this blog that I discovered my ability to write, something I wouldn't have known if I didn't have any platform for it. And with my career in advertising, this blog helped me to know and understand more about social media and analytics. All because of my first hand experience.

What I'm saying here is, trust yourself and be brave enough to be your own person no matter what the opinions of other people are. If you keep listening and don't weigh things yourself, just so you wont disappoint or anger anyone, you will lose sight of your own person and tosses the chance of discovering of what you're really capable of. Don't be discouraged. Just stay true to yourself and know that when you trust yourself fully, you'll discover things you'll never thought possible.
