Maybe Life Meant To Give Us More

Maybe life meant to give us more,
Something we need, not what we thought we need.
Perhaps it meant us well all along.

Life As I've Imagine As Told By My 28 Year Old Self

Life As I've Imagine As Told By My 28 Year Old Self

In ode to me turning 29 in a month and half, I thought I'd write down the life as I've imagined 10 years from now according to my 28 year old self. It would be interesting to look back what my younger self had envisioned, what came true and what didn't, it hope it all comes true. So here it goes.

  • 1. I have a successful business that I'm passionate about that I can do at home.
  • 2. I'm no longer in Singapore but in another city with my beautiful family.
  • 3. Married to the most wonderful man.
  • 4. I have one baby girl.
  • 5. I have travelled to 10 new cities.
  • 6. Managed to maintain a healthy toned body.

Not to shabby for a 10 year old dream but hey we'll see.

Life Update!

Life Update!

So many things has been going on the past couple of days that I feel like my life is in a roller coaster, but in a good way. New projects and relationships are growing and I couldn't be happier. Though physical exhaustion are of course inevitable, long term rewards are more promising. I won't go into details yet but soon I will.

For now, let me just say this. I am blessed despite what the past outcome was and if it wasn't for it, I wouldn't even consider what I'm doing now. I'm at the point in my life where I'm growing as an individual, taking steps and challenges on the things I've always wanted to do. With a little push, I am here right now, doing it accompanied by someone who makes me want to do great things. Haven't I been blessed enough?

Summer in Phuket

Summer in Phuket

I told myself that I'll start posting all my travel adventures here so I can look back and relive the moments in the years after so I guess this is where I'll start. Earlier this June I went to Phuket with a friend to get a good tan and much needed holiday. It was an amazing experience but I don't think I'll have the guts to go there on my own. Nonetheless, here are my major highlights.

31 May - 3 June 2017

  • We rented a motorbike to get around the city.
  • Had the most amazing Phad Thai and Mango Sticky Rice at Karon
  • Visited Patong beach, Karon beach and Surin beach.
  • Saw 3 elephants on the road at random on our way to Surin.
  • Met up with my good friend Rebekah and her boyfriend at Surin Beach Resort.
  • Had a couple of drinks there; some rose, white wine and gin and tonic before going to Patong later that evening.
  • Rode a traditional thai taxi and went to Karon beach to have dinner with those two amazing friends.
  • Thereafter we head to Patong and had a couple of drinks, played some good old games.

Life Conversation Over Fried Rice and Dumplings

Life Conversation Over Fried Rice and Dumplings

I was having conversation with my sister over fried rice and dumplings last night, a rare occasion I know, about how things are back home, what we observe around us and how each of us intends to move forward. Topics about old age and time float around and she mentioned something significant that stuck with me.

She said a decade flew by easily. I never heard of it phrased that way and suddenly I thought of all the things I wanted to do. I wanted to see the northern lights in Iceland, experience the wild life in Cape Town and visit the old town of Cuba, the list goes on.

But most importantly I want to engage in a work that I'm proud of, something that I will never cease to do in years. You see I tend to start a project and stop half way because I don't believe in it anymore. The only work I haven't stopped doing for the past 8 years is this blog. It became a platform for my thoughts and experiences, an avenue of self-expression that I kept coming back to time and time again. I guess it goes without saying if it's important to you, you will always find time.

After last nights conversation, I realise not everyone has an outlet. Some do their hobbies on the side (like I do), some pursue theirs full time like designers, photographers and chefs (I envy them) and some just have none. Perhaps I'm lucky to be one of the few to find a middle ground in hopes to pursue it in the future. If only I have a stronger sense of the skill I was gifted and the courage to do it at a drop of a hat. But I guess for now I will continue to do what I do, grow and explore other skills hidden within me and see where it goes from there. P.S. I also love expressing myself in the outfits I wore.

Never Again

I'm not gonna apologise again for things I said or do
Because to me all of those were true.
Take it or leave
I don't care what you believe.
To me it's all done,
so you better be gone.
