Skincare & Makeup Tips - Get Ready for a Night Out, For Less!

Make-up and skin care can be quite the expense for someone who likes to dress up for a night out or a professional function for work. This doesn’t have to be the case, however; below are some great tips to get the most from your skin-care and makeup for less.
Skin-Care for the Saving
Save your skin, and some dollars while you’re at it. Some of the most trusted, time-tested skin-care methods are those which can be found right in your kitchen cupboard.  Grapeseed-oil is a truly magnificent way to renew your skin as a moisturizer, and many folks keep it in their kitchen for every day cooking. Olive oil, can be great for all skin & callouses, has healing properties, and can moisten skin as well as rejuvenate dead-skells. A cucumber or avocado mask can be home-made, and also wonderful for a home-made face-mask. Putting oatmeal in the bath, can also be great for your skin, as it can calm irritated or itchy skin, great for the winter. You can also use commonly-bought items like Vaseline as a lipgloss or cheek lightener, for a fraction of the price. Using these readily available products can help you save, especially if you buy in bulk – many popular skincare items have these as the active ingredients anyway.
Buy the holiday gifts, year-round
We’ve all seen the holiday marketed packaging with the smaller versions of beauty products we love. They make wonderful gifts (hence why they are usually in gift-sets) but have you ever thought of giving that gift to yourself as a way to save money? Buying a set of smaller-sized products can often be an amazing way to save, and try new items all year-round.  For example, at major make-up and beauty suppliers, they often sell items in bulk, but in the test-sizes (mascara, perfume, lipstick or lipgloss) with holiday gift wrap. These can be great money savers, as they are often items throughout the season that they need to sell for the end of the year, and can be some fabulous products. You could always use payday loans onlineif your budget wont stretch enough to allow you to make some of these amazing money saving purchases.
Go ahead and buy the tempting mascara-gift set for yourself. Products like mascara, which dry out and which have a shorter shelf life or need to be replaced often for hygienic reasons, are great in the smaller test-sizes. You can try a whole range of products, at a holiday discount, and never have to deal with that dried-out, not-as-good-as-when-I-first-bought-it clumpiness ever again. Treat yourself to a holiday sample set, and have several items that last year round.
Use the products creatively
Run out of your favorite blush? Try using a bit of your favorite rouge lipstick instead, as cream-blush is made of much of the same components.  This is an easy way to use your own products and get the most out of them. You can also blend products to create new shades, and get a surprisingly new look out of old makeup items, add a little sparkling eye shadow to your blush, and voila, a new glimmering shade you’ve blended yourself.
Getting even more creative, you can use an old lipstick for a funky new eye shadow, you can try eye shadow as eyeliner, or lip liner as eyeliner, even mascara as a brow gel. Getting the most out of your products can be a great way to save, as you don’t have to buy as many. Make sure you keep in mind that this works best for your powder-based items, as mascaras and lipsticks have shorter shelf-lives.
Plan a Pre-Party Bash
Sometimes the best folks who can introduce you to new ways to save are the people you already know. Invite a few friends over and have a make-up party, each bringing something they love to share – a favorite blush, a new shade of lipstick, or even a spritz of a new perfume. This is a fun way to spend time with the people you care about, and also learn something new about their favorite products and beauty tips. This is also a great way to learn new, fun money saving tips like the ones above. Who needs the after party when you can pre-game in style?

You Don't Have To...

To tell me how much you spend time with her.
How many classes you have together.
How she cooks for you.
How she can tell what you feel without you saying a word.
How people question the status of your relationship.
How you can open up to her.
How she can be such a burden at times.
How she questions your faith.
That you don't have the intention of being with her.
That you can never look at her more than a sister.

Yet she is special.

Thank you

For letting me believe that my dream is possible.
For giving me sensible advise.
For reminding me what I should do and what I'm capable of.
For lifting me up during times of doubt.

And thank you… for being there when I'm sad, lost and confused.

Birth Announcement Cards

Birth Announcement Cards

Have you ever heard of or received a birth announcement card? They are becoming an ever popular trend, even in today’s social media absorbed world. Such a card would be sent to close friends and family, and perhaps work colleagues of the new parents following the birth of their bundle of joy. The card will typically feature a picture of the new-born baby and include information such as the weight, date and time of birth and the baby’s name of course. Parents can personalise these cards whichever way they desire. They do not necessarily have to include a photo but as the cards are really sent not only as an announcement but as a keepsake, including a photograph is a good idea.

Although your local store may not yet have picked up on the trend of birth announcement cards, there are thousands available online. You can pick from ready-made designs or choose to personalise or amend the card design as you wish. You can have the online store send the cards for you on your behalf if you wish. Many parents even pre-design the card before the birth and enter recipient details so that once the new arrival appears, all they have to do is enter the name, time date and weight and upload a photograph. This saves a lot of hassle during what will no doubt be a busy period in the new parent’s lives.

Many new parents use mediums such as social media to announce the birth of their child and to share pictures of their little one. However, many also prefer to exercise privacy with the birth of a child. They may not want pictures and details of their new-born splashed across online mediums for the world to see. After all those 600 friends or 200 followers may not exactly be people you even know very well. By sending birth announcement cards, you can share the news, details and pictures of your child with those who matter, in a more private manner.

One must also remember that there are plenty of people who are not active on social media, particularly family members. By sending a birth announcement card, you can ensure that such people are not missing out on enjoying pictures and details of your new-born simply because they are not advocates of social media outlets. The cards serve as a momentous keepsake for those who matter too whereas social media posts can get lost in the mix and will be old news within hours as timelines move on. It is a nice way to thank those who have supported the parents right throughout the pregnancy and allow them to feel involved and appreciated with the birth.
So before you bring your bundle of joy into the world, organise for some birth announcement cards to be designed and ready to send upon the birth. If you do, you create a precious keepsake that recipients will forever cherish.

You Didn't Have To Tell Me You're Leaving

You Didn't Have To Tell Me You're Leaving

You didn't have to really… Is there a reason for it? Does that mean I still mean something to you? I'm just surprised that's all. I would never thought that you'd still care. I thought that maybe because we have drifted apart, that telling each other anything would just be too much, too unnecessary for either of us to know.

What do you want me to say? Tell you that I'll miss you? Tell you how I wish you didn't have to go? I just don't know what went through your mind. A part of me hopes that I still have a space in your heart, that I will always be a part of you. But it's only you who knows.

Until then...

That Look In Your Eyes

That Look In Your Eyes

Why do you always do that? You know… that look in your face, that smile, the way you look at me. It just creates butterflies in my stomach. Like I couldn't help but smile on my own whenever you're not looking. I feel like a fool sometimes and I wonder if other people beside me notices it.

I don't get to see you very often, hardly even but whenever I catch you looking at me like that, the way you smile at me, my heart just stops. If only you knew.

PS: You're too cute. Way too cute and I wonder when you'll have the guts to say hi.

Beauty and wellness treatments to indulge in on Hamilton Island

Looking for some pampering and a place to kickstart your 2014 health regime? Hamilton Island’s luxury spas Qualia and Wumurdaylin might be just the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate – they totally were for me!
Spa Qualia
Located on the secluded northernmost tip of Hamilton Island (20 Whitsunday Blvdand surrounded by the spectacular Great Barrier Reef, Spa Qualia prides itself on delivering beauty and wellness in a truly Australian way. The philosophy of the treatments is to provide synergy between the body and mind by drawing on ancient Aboriginal practices.
If you’re after a spa that tackles the stresses of your busy lifestyle, Qualia is for you. With six deluxe treatment rooms on offer, it’s the ultimate in anti-stress, anti-aging, detoxifying and cleansing.
Treatments
Qualia offers facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, body wraps, men’s treatments and couples’ packages.
Some of its treatments are called “ceremonies”, in reflection of traditional indigenous practices. One of its signature ceremonies is the Bularri Yarrul, a hot-stone massage designed to relive stress and fatigue. Using the weight and warmth of naturally formed stones, the resulting energy is used to provide a heavenly full-body massage.
Another favourite of mine is the Heaven Scent treatment that includes a milk-and-honey body wrap cocoon, an outdoor rain shower and a white-chocolate-and-organic-cocoa-butter hydration treatment to soothe and nourish your body. Finished with a calming facial treatment, this is perfect for mothers-to-be or after a day in the sun.
Naturopathy
Spa Qualia offers consultations with their highly trained naturopaths who undertake a comprehensive analysis of your nutrition and body composition. Looking at detoxification, iridology, immunity, ageing and stress, the naturopaths then create a personal wellness plan tailored to you. I guarantee you will radiate energy, life and balance afterwards.
 Yoga and meditation
Qualia offers yoga and meditation in tune with its natural surroundings. The class’s unique style is designed to reflect the island’s natural beauty, and leave you feeling connected both physically and emotionally.
Wumurdaylin
The new spa Wumurdaylin (Resort Dr) is the island’s first full-service day spa. It has 11 treatment rooms including three couples’ suites and treatments ranging from body cocoon wraps and facials to exfoliations, massages, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and wellness therapies.
Treatments
I can’t go past Wumurdaylin’s signature Botanical Spa Facials that use plant extracts, re-conditioning vitamins and precious oils that are individually tailored to your skin.
Another favourite is the range of Ocean Dreaming treatments. The signature ‘Of the Sea’ is pure heaven and includes a facial, hand-and-foot treatment, body exfoliation, mud wrap, hair-and-scalp treatment and massage. If you’re after a luxurious body wrap, you have to try ‘Of the Earth’, which infuses the skin with green tea, ginseng and lemongrass golden clay.
Wellness
Wumurdaylin offers alternative therapies such as naturopathy and Reiki. The increasingly popular Reiki is a non-invasive and gentle method that aims to naturally heal and rebalance your energy.
Superbly complementing Wumurdaylin’s pampering are the one-way glass mirrors that allow the beauty of the natural surrounds to be reflected into the spa, creating a truly unique experience. This, absolutely, is my favourite feature – body, mind and soul at one with nature.
If you need a relaxing getaway to get you through January, Hamilton Island sounds like perfect place.

I Want To Hold You Even For Just A Second

I Want To Hold You Even For Just A Second

I know I've said this to you before but I want to say it again. I admire you. I admire you for your braveness, for following your dreams, for not caring about what other people think, for giving it your all and for sticking with it.

You were never wrong and no one has to right to judge you for it. You did what you felt was needed and I salute you. Sometimes I wonder if I could do the same. You see, I tend to doubt myself but you lift me up any way, giving me advise that I wouldn't have thought of myself.

I want to see you, hug you or maybe even hold you for a second. Not because of anything but because I know behind that braveness lies a man who is weak, sad and alone. You wanted to taste life and it has given that to you. Whether it's what you've always wanted or it let you realize something else, I want you to know that I'm here, I'll always be, much like how you've always been to me.
