Skincare & Makeup Tips - Get Ready for a Night Out, For Less!

Make-up and skin care can be quite the expense for someone who likes to dress up for a night out or a professional function for work. This doesn’t have to be the case, however; below are some great tips to get the most from your skin-care and makeup for less.
Skin-Care for the Saving
Save your skin, and some dollars while you’re at it. Some of the most trusted, time-tested skin-care methods are those which can be found right in your kitchen cupboard.  Grapeseed-oil is a truly magnificent way to renew your skin as a moisturizer, and many folks keep it in their kitchen for every day cooking. Olive oil, can be great for all skin & callouses, has healing properties, and can moisten skin as well as rejuvenate dead-skells. A cucumber or avocado mask can be home-made, and also wonderful for a home-made face-mask. Putting oatmeal in the bath, can also be great for your skin, as it can calm irritated or itchy skin, great for the winter. You can also use commonly-bought items like Vaseline as a lipgloss or cheek lightener, for a fraction of the price. Using these readily available products can help you save, especially if you buy in bulk – many popular skincare items have these as the active ingredients anyway.
Buy the holiday gifts, year-round
We’ve all seen the holiday marketed packaging with the smaller versions of beauty products we love. They make wonderful gifts (hence why they are usually in gift-sets) but have you ever thought of giving that gift to yourself as a way to save money? Buying a set of smaller-sized products can often be an amazing way to save, and try new items all year-round.  For example, at major make-up and beauty suppliers, they often sell items in bulk, but in the test-sizes (mascara, perfume, lipstick or lipgloss) with holiday gift wrap. These can be great money savers, as they are often items throughout the season that they need to sell for the end of the year, and can be some fabulous products. You could always use payday loans onlineif your budget wont stretch enough to allow you to make some of these amazing money saving purchases.
Go ahead and buy the tempting mascara-gift set for yourself. Products like mascara, which dry out and which have a shorter shelf life or need to be replaced often for hygienic reasons, are great in the smaller test-sizes. You can try a whole range of products, at a holiday discount, and never have to deal with that dried-out, not-as-good-as-when-I-first-bought-it clumpiness ever again. Treat yourself to a holiday sample set, and have several items that last year round.
Use the products creatively
Run out of your favorite blush? Try using a bit of your favorite rouge lipstick instead, as cream-blush is made of much of the same components.  This is an easy way to use your own products and get the most out of them. You can also blend products to create new shades, and get a surprisingly new look out of old makeup items, add a little sparkling eye shadow to your blush, and voila, a new glimmering shade you’ve blended yourself.
Getting even more creative, you can use an old lipstick for a funky new eye shadow, you can try eye shadow as eyeliner, or lip liner as eyeliner, even mascara as a brow gel. Getting the most out of your products can be a great way to save, as you don’t have to buy as many. Make sure you keep in mind that this works best for your powder-based items, as mascaras and lipsticks have shorter shelf-lives.
Plan a Pre-Party Bash
Sometimes the best folks who can introduce you to new ways to save are the people you already know. Invite a few friends over and have a make-up party, each bringing something they love to share – a favorite blush, a new shade of lipstick, or even a spritz of a new perfume. This is a fun way to spend time with the people you care about, and also learn something new about their favorite products and beauty tips. This is also a great way to learn new, fun money saving tips like the ones above. Who needs the after party when you can pre-game in style?
