Nail Color of the Week: Essie Bikini So Teeny

For the longest time, I was afraid of wearing blues on my nails, especially lighter shades of blue. It's just a bit off for me to be wearing something other than reds and pinks. I think those colors are the most flattering for me. But when I came across this gorgeous Essie Bikini So Teeny, I knew I had to give it another try and I wasn't disappointed. Now I'm a total convert and I can't wait to share with you other blue polishes that I got.

If there is one collection I have, it's definitely nail polishes. I just love seeing cute bottles all lined up on my shelf like candies. It's just too pretty. And because I wanted to add in more beauty post, I thought why not share with you the nail color that I'm wearing for the week. 

What I have on now is Essie Fruit Sangria. It's described as a hot pink cocktail with a dab of sugar. I wasn't really looking for this color when I bought it. Normally I would have something in mind to buy then I'll go look for it. But for this, I just happen to see it over rows of nail polishes during one of the beauty fairs and I thought that it's such a pretty color and I don't have it in my collection yet. 

So I tried it on and yes, the color is super pretty. It's definitely hot pink, perfect for this spring.

New: Essie Nail Polishes

Hey ladies! I just got back from my London trip and I got lots of new stuff to share with you. It's going to be an exciting series of post so watch out for that. But first of all, the Essie nail polishes. I got them in a mix of nudes, pastels and a red, a favorite of course. I was really excited when I saw a rack full of these because from where I live, they don't sell it and I have to scout for a local seller that imports these so yea it's pretty difficult. But I'm glad I got a bunch of beautiful shades that I could wear throughout the season. I know it's fall but you can never go wrong wearing some neutrals and reds.

The colours I got are turquoise & caicos, not just a pretty face, flawless, fifth avenue and sand tropez.

French Manicure - Tips and Tricks

We all know how difficult it is to do your own french manicure. Getting those white lines straight is too much of a task. Lets face it, not all of us are gifted with a steady hands. So let me share with you some tips and tricks in doing your own french manicure.

You'll need:
  • Top coat
  • Base coat
  • White nail polish
  • Natural nail polish (I used Orly's bare rose)
  • Pure acetone
  • Small rounded brush
  • Tissue or small towel

French Manicure - Tips and Tricks:

1. Apply the base coat on the tips of your nails, covering only 1/4 of your nail.
2. Do the same when you apply the while nail polish. I suggest you do two coats for a more
opaque look.
3. Dip your small round brush on a pure acetone and tap the access on a tissue or small towel.
4. While holding the brush, rest the edge of your hand onto your hand where you are doing your
nails.
5. Slowly maneuver the brush to remove the excess white nail polish, creating a straight line.
6. Do this several times until you're satisfied with the lines you've created.
7. Apply a top coat of your choice.

I haven't got myself into the glitter bandwagon like most fashionistas do but nonetheless, I'm lovin these shades for fall. It's a perfect mix of darks and neutrals that can match any fall trending outfit. I must grab a shade or two soon!
