Short Suits
Fashion
Okay,
I know what you are thinking, who came up with the crazy idea to start bringing
menswear into women’s fashion. Trust me; I was thinking the same thing when I
first heard of this collaboration of styles. After watching bloggers and
designers put their personal spin on this idea, I wondered why this trend
didn’t come sooner! Sure it may seem a bit masculine when you see it on a
hanger, but by adding pops of classic and feminine pieces, such as a great
handbag or a statement necklace, you turn it into something completely chic and
your own.
Julie
Sarinana, also known as Sincerely Jules in the blogging world, captures a true
"california casual" style. It almost seems as if that title was made
with her in mind! Who would have thought that a suit could look so casual and
effortless? It makes the thought of wearing a short suit to the grocery store
seem a little bit unexpected but stunningly chic! Not to mention that floral print
is fab!
Elin
Kling, on the other hand, has more of a classic style. In this photo she may
look casual, but there is elegance about her outfit that is different from the
other two suits. She achieves this by choosing more neutral colors, avoiding
busy patterns and prints. Plus, with this being the year of blues, Elin’s
wedgewood blue ensemble is right on trend.
Aimee
Song‘s cool girl style is a perfect mix between Elin and Jules. She has the
must have classic vintage pieces in her (absolutely stunning) closet but adds
an unexpected casual and relaxed flair to her outfits. If you follow any of
Aimee’s blog posts, then you know she is a big fan of jackets and layers. It is
a no brainer to connect her style with short suits.
